Providence Health & Services Senior Security Engineer in Washington
Providence is calling a Senior Security Engineer to one of our locations in Anaheim or Irvine CA, Portland, OR, or in the Seattle area.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Security Engineer with a passion for Authentication and Identity technologies to join our great team supporting Enterprise Information Security (EIS). The role is critical for Providence’s digital transformation and modernization efforts which will lead the Healthcare industry by providing the optimal patient and caregiver experience through modern technology. A successful engineer in this role will maintain awareness of new security and authentication trends, research, evaluate, design and recommend technical security solutions for the enterprise. They will provide technical security assessment support; developing, maintaining, and monitoring an effective Information Security program to provide logical and physical protection of the company's technical resources. Enterprise accountabilities include executing security engineering practices for IS projects; conduct product research and participate in the selection process of technologies to support security requirements; establish technical security guidance, provisioning of access by ensuring the proper access to all types of enterprise applications and data communications systems and services for each customer.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Advise on caregiver, business, and technical requirements. Uses expertise to design components of a service architecture, and operability and caregiver scenarios that meet compliance standards and KPIs, such as quality, cost, and caregiver expectation.
Advise on and incorporates the team's standards and best practices into all designs to create high-performance, manageable services.
Contribute to the design of a service delivery system by evaluating and recommending options for tools, hardware, and processes that enable the team to create a complete system that supports service delivery and meets KPIs.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and engineers solutions for complex (for example, unexpected or unanticipated) service issues to restore service with minimal disruption to the caregiver and business. Owns the problem, solving it once and for all. Extrapolates from past experiences and delivers innovations.
Actively take part in disaster recovery drills. Participates as needed in incident response management during non-working hours.
Make recommendations on capacity requirements, based on service KPIs, evolving caregiver usage scenarios, and proposed new feature releases to enable the team to create a viable cost model.
Maximize the effectiveness of financial resources.
Use expertise to contribute to the design of process or technology solutions that identify and resolve platform, system, deployment and environmental issues prior to solution release, and that ensure an on-time release with predictable high quality.
Triage problems and uses problem management tools (such as root cause analysis, trend analysis, and postmortems) to discover and drive solutions across the service team.
Ensure that production solutions are reliable, resilient, secure and effective and continuously monitored.
Define and collects metrics (such as service availability data, performance measures, system health, and long-term trends) to support service intelligence analysis.
Analyze and track operational cost data and reports trends, budget risk, and variance against the projected cost model to the business.
Identify cost saving opportunities for consideration by the service team.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
5 years Related experience.
Experience collaborating on security solution designs for the TCP/IP protocol suite, LAN/WAN technologies, switching, routing, VoIP and Telephony technologies, firewalls and VPN, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), vulnerability assessment and patch management tools.
Functional experience designing security controls and countermeasures for operating systems, databases, applications, Web services, user devices, and wireless networks.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with Azure AD/Active Directory Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Application Registration, Passwordless, Identity Federation, Automation.
Experience with Imprivata appliances, agents, authenticators, and systems.
Experience with a large Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Experience with automation using PowerShell or Python.
Excellent troubleshooting and root cause diagnosis skills
Strong writing and communication skills. Ability to create and maintain accurate and detailed guidelines and procedures.
Experience as a Security and/or IAM/Authentication Engineer
Hands-on experience with implementing authentication and identity solutions.
Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology and Azure DevOps
Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or equivalent. Azure AD, Imprivata
