We are seeking a Senior Manager Clinical Informatics Business Operations who will:

  • Provide strategic and tactical management to Business Operations within the Clinical Informatics Pillar

  • Be Responsible for leading people, designing and implementing processes, and leveraging technology to ensure that Business Operations are efficient, effective, and aligned to Clinical Informatics strategic goals

  • Work closely with counterparts, senior leaders, and stakeholders across the organization to implement process improvements and resolve operational issues

  • Manage all aspects of assigned programs and be responsible for ensuring work is planned and executed in a collaborative manner and that the desired results are achieved

  • Provide oversight for system wide processes, structures, and standards

  • Be accountable for: capacity planning and resource utilization, finance and budget processes, engagement strategies, workforce development strategies, needs/impact assessments and evaluations, and developing and maintaining the processes and tools needed to ensure successful execution of Clinical Informatics Operations and Projects

  • Have responsibilities and authority broader in scope due to an area of higher strategic importance and helps to set broader goals for the group

  • Be responsible to work across functions with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals and works with senior management and other peers on strategy development and execution planning

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Strategy Development, Alignment, and Collaboration:

  • Consults with organizational leadership and work groups to assist and influence the development of strategic Initiatives and Programs

  • Plans and oversees strategic, operational, and administrative programs, projects, and/or services of broad significance to the organization

  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified operating policies, practices, and procedures

  • Influences stakeholders at all levels and across all functions by developing a credible reputation, objectively assessing business problems, and understanding how the business works

Management and Leadership:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff and peers; serves as the principal point of expertise on all matters relating to assigned programs and projects

  • Works with cross-functional, global teams to push projects forward, driving recommendations through to implementation

  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with interdisciplinary groups

  • Facilitates cross-departmental and cross-regional strategy sessions and process improvement initiatives

  • Builds and strengthens the clinical informatics team by understanding and supporting strategic initiatives and priorities for operational business plans

  • Creates larger learning opportunities for teams including system demonstrations, and departmental meetings as needed

  • Demonstrates ability to take on new responsibilities and grow in progressive and higher levels of management and leadership in the organization


  • Manages and/or provides day-to-day leadership to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate to the position

  • Builds productive and positive relationships across all levels, backgrounds, and skill sets

  • Provides project management leadership and support for clinical information projects as assigned

  • Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities as outlined in system and department safety policies/procedures

Customer Service:

  • Develops and collaborates, using data, on individual and team objectives and capacities in the creation, definition, and advancement/support of new and existing standard operating procedures (SOP) and service level agreements (SLA) consistent with PSJH management, IS, and CI priorities with the goal of providing and maintaining excellent, realistic customer service

  • Measures and reports on individual and team objectives/SOPs/SLAs as required/requested by CI and IS leadership

  • Advocates for and supports a collaborative and just work environment that maintains and augments employee engagement and satisfaction with a career at PSJH

  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others

  • Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products

  • Ability to travel throughout the health system as well as to meetings and seminars throughout United States

  • Strong program and project management skills; ability to define and lead process improvement projects in a cross-functional setting


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management and Development or a combination of equivalent education / experience

  • 8 years related experience

  • 6 years leadership experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Organizational Management and Development or a combination of equivalent education / experience

  • Active license or certification to practice as a clinician is required if applicable (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist)

  • Informatics certifications or credentialing, and may be equivalent for up to 2 years of experience for this position at the hiring manger’s discretion
