Providence Principal Product Owner - Marketing Technology in Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Principal Product Owner - Marketing Technology for the Digital Innovation Group. Currently due to Covid, this role is working 100% remote. Post-Covid, candidates living local to Renton office will work two days a week in the office with the team and the rest of the week remote. This role is open to candidates from five states -AK, WA, MT, OR and CA. Post-Covid, those not local to Renton will need to travel to Renton, WA once a month and spend two days working with the team.
We are seeking a Principal Product Owner - Marketing Technology to own and evolve the vision for our suite of marketing technology tools and services. In this role, you will own the various homegrown and third-party platforms and tools we use to solve our current and future marketing needs.
The Marketing Platforms Team is responsible for architecting, enhancing, and maintaining all platforms (third-party and in-house) that support the needs of marketing tactics and digital experience. The Principal Product Owner works alongside Marketing managers, marketing engineering and architecture, and leadership supporting the underlying technology stack used for orchestrating, optimizing, and measuring all marketing activity. Working as part of the Marketing Platforms team the Principal Product Owner must have a broad range of skills; including the ability to manage the technology life cycle, understand the capabilities of a variety of different software and cloud based solutions, and interpret the needs of the business from discovery through implementation and support.
You will represent the Providence marketing technology portfolio, answering questions, gathering stakeholder requirements, identifying and documenting problems to be solved, making recommendations, and transforming business needs into user stories for development. From day one you'll need to effectively balance day-to-day business needs with strategic initiatives, provide product leadership, educate end users, and manage the execution and delivery of products for the marketing function.
The person in this role will proactively develop a deep understanding of business goals, marketing needs, and technological capabilities to shape the vision of our marketing technology and drive a roadmap that enables our marketing teams to meet or exceed their goals.

You will play a meaningful high-visibility role, reporting to the Director of Marketing Platforms in defining priorities and streamlining the execution of program priorities while maintaining conceptual integrity of deliverables for the team. You will implement rigorous product management practices and pave the way for future and ongoing product growth across a multitude of internal and external partners. You will pave the way for others to join the team under your mentorship.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Serve as an owner for the respective technology stacks and ensures appropriate technology is implemented in alignment with business needs. Manage and track the financial impact of Marketing Technology initiatives.
Translate marketing technology vision into a multi-year roadmap that delivers new digital solutions incrementally. Drive marketing technology strategy including roadmap definition and execution in collaboration with marketing teams.
Work closely with other groups to coordinate strategies, priorities and inter-dependent initiatives. Works with executive leader to align people and process change management efforts to solution delivery.
Understand the potential use of new technologies in their area as driven by Providence initiatives, vendor capabilities, or industry best practices and trends, and informing and educating peers as necessary. Understand the cost/benefit of creating technical debt. Works to sustainably drive Marketing Technology capability and maturity; minimize long term risk, technical chaos, and data bifurcation while simultaneously maximizing scalability, operational sustainability, and usability.
Add structure to Marketing Technology initiatives through defining meeting cadences, program communications, steering groups, and business case materials and documentation. Create new processes, templates, and operational workflows where none exist.
Flesh out, define, and document specific use cases for marketing technology. Partner across teams in Marketing and Digital to adopt best practices and align technologies with business use cases.
Develop and maintain technical solutions that enable identity resolution across web, mobile, and other interaction channels. Enable digital customer 360 and contact consolidation using such techniques as name, email, and mailing address merge purge, hard key collapses, probabilistic and deterministing key matching, device graphing and digital fingerprinting.
Drive consumer marketing solutions working in partnership with our Marketing Consumer Data team to recommend industry standards and best practices, across cloud, on-premise, or hybrid architectures.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Mathematics or Computer Science or equivalent educ/experience
More than 10 years proven track record in leading deployment, maintenance, and operation of Marketing Technologies (Marketing Automation, CRM, Marketing Analytics, Digital Advertising, CDP)
More than 10 years experience in delivering solutions through the software development lifecycle in at least one of the following areas: DMPs, DSPs, SSPs, Google Marketing Platform, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, or others
6 years experience in gathering requirements and documenting various components of marketing technical systems
5 years experience managing enterprise projects
2 years participating in solution design with Technology Team Members
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Demonstrated analytical skills and data-driven approach.
Effective written communication skills as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
Effectively manages to project deadlines and escalates issues as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
