Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (Sterile Compounding Center, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington. In this position you will:
Sterile and accurate admixture of IV products under a laminar flow hood or vertical flow biological safety cabinet.
Communicate effectively and appropriately with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, dietitians, billing, and external customers to facilitate accurate, safe care for the patient.
Maintain inventory of all medications, solutions and supplies stocked in the department.
Use of automated compounding devices.
Track expiration dates of medications and solutions.
Clean and maintain laminar flow hood and biological safety cabinet in accordance with applicable standards and laws including The Joint Commission and USP 797.
Complete and maintain required documentation per Providence requirements and USP 797 guidelines.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Current Pharmacy Technician certification in Washington State
Current national Pharmacy Technician certification (or must obtain within 3 months of hire)
Knowledge of generic and trade names commonly prescribed IV medications
Knowledge of aseptic technique
General computer and data entry skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Customer Service experience
