Providence Hospice of Seattle is growing in Pierce County! We are calling for a Chaplain (On-Call, 0.0 FTE Days) to join our team Pierce County.

Hospice chaplains will tell you what a privilege it is to care for patients at end of life and support family members who are coping with loss. We focus on patient’s hopes and wishes to improve their quality life.
As a hospice chaplain, you will work closely with a team of caregivers to meet the individual care needs of each patient you serve. You will travel to your patients’ homes within a small geographic region within Pierce County to provide care.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree Theology, religious studies or religious education from a school accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Coursework/TrainingCompletion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), preferably within a health care setting.
Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) is required within three (3) years of the date of hire.
Ecclesiastical Endorsement by a recognized faith group for ministry in a specialized setting.
Ordination or commissioning to function in a ministry of pastoral care.
Current Washington State Driver’s license.
Healthcare Provider CPR certification earned through training approved by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 2 years of Chaplain experience is preferred.
