RN - Nursing Float Pool (72 hours per 2-week pay period, Night Shift, Variable Schedule: Self Scheduling - Not Assigned: 3 shifts per week and every other weekend, scheduling 8 weeks in advance) at Providence Holy Family Hospital

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Working with a preceptor and assuming increasing responsibility during the residency, the RN Resident is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit-specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.

Our Residency Program transitions new graduate Nurses into practice emphasizing inter-professional, collaborative, and patient-centered care. Our comprehensive specialty curriculum includes online and classroom-based learning, clinical simulation, skills development, and unit orientation with specialty trained preceptors. Our Core Fundamentals program is designed to support new graduate professional development through their first year of practice.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire

  • All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) must obtain a BSN or higher within 3 years of hire.

  • An unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) is required upon hire. If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire. The card must be from American Heart Association (AHA).

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required and may be obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire.

  • Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program and is newly licensed. The length of time since graduation can vary; however, typically is less than 12 months from graduation.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing upon hire

  • National Certification in area of specialty
