Providence RN - Home Health in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Home Health (Pace Spokane, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments of all participants open to home health; monitor health problems and health status as needed, and implement nursing care plan.
Provide direct participant care, including but not limited to: vital signs, wound care, medication administration/management, treatments, patient teaching, venipuncture and microcoagulation, catheter care, foot care, administration/reading PPD test.
Contribute to the total care plan by making pertinent nursing observations and participating in multidisciplinary team care conferences, staff meetings and in-services as needed.
Assure that documentation reflects adherence to nursing standards, interdisciplinary care plan and progress toward identified patient outcomes.
Act as a liaison between participant, family/guardian, physicians, nurse manager and administration as needed or delegated.
Maintain knowledge of current clinical condition of all residents under his/her jurisdiction.
Assure that proper equipment, instruments and supplies are available to meet participant needs.
Provide nurse delegation to qualified certified nursing assistants, registered nursing assistants per state regulations.
Explain procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
Participate in survey inspections by authorized government agencies including completion and delivery of any requested correspondence.
Participate in continuing education training and is responsible for remaining in compliance with the educational requirements and standards established by regulatory agencies.
Recognize signs of physical, emotional and verbal abuse; Reports suspected abuse and neglect to appropriate state agencies for intervention; Appraises Multidisciplinary Team of report.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree. Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Current Washington State RN license.
Current CPR certification.
Current Washington State drivers license.
Proof of auto insurance.
One (1) year Long term care or geriatric nursing
One (1) year Working with the frail and elderly
