Providence is calling a Respiratory Therapist (Lung and Sleep Disorder Clinic, Days, Full Time) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Proactively inform clinic leadership of all operational issues as they arise.

  • Provide plans for resolution and proposals for improvement to clinic leadership.

  • Instruct patients and families in the proper use of respiratory equipment, including but not limited to: inhalators, nebulizer machines, oxygen tanks, and vests.

  • Educate patients and families in the home care of CF patients.

  • Provide lung function, pulmonary function and breathing tests to patients in clinic.

  • Coordinate with physician and nursing staff in planning and implementing patient plan of care.

  • Assist the physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles.

  • Accept and support the mission and values of Providence Medical Group and Providence Health & Services.

  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

  • Adhere to established infection control policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Successfully complete required educational modules in the required time frames and participates in fire drills and emergency exercises.

  • Consider individual needs in communication with others, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects for all ages.

  • Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and as appropriate, other information.

  • Demonstrate service excellence and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with others, including patients/families/members, employees, managers, medical staff, volunteers and community members, so that productivity and positive relations are maximized.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited and approved program or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited and approved program.

  • Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (LR credential) in the State of Washington.

  • Current national registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), holding RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential, or Registry Eligible.

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • Experience working with cystic fibrosis and/or pediatric patients.
