Providence Program Assistant - Health Data Services in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Program Assistant - Health Data Services (Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion & Pharmacy Services in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Maintain Providence Home Infusion clinical records and establish tracking systems for clinical forms.
Process clinical and financial paperwork on a daily basis to include sorting, batching, filing, data entry, copying, scanning and indexing.
Be responsible for tracking dates and ensuring completion of medical treatment plans, physician orders, and other required medical forms on a daily basis.
Be responsible for maintaining clinical and reimbursement records, service sections, and care volumes in an accurate and organized manner.
Electronic medical record maintenance and oversight includes appropriate, accurate and timely content management and organized indexing (e.g., following established naming conventions) of electronic files.
Identify and report documentation discrepancies to appropriate supervisor/manager and/or director.
Maintain confidentiality of all client demographics, medical and financial information at all times.
Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adheres to all PHI rules and regulations.
Utilize electronic medical record reporting capabilities to manage and verify patient census information and/or other available data tracking reports.
Generate and/or distribute reports within designated time frames as necessary.
Have responsibility for the retention and storage systems related to the clinical records and ministry contracts. This includes annual purging of the files, if applicable.
Provide coverage and act as a back-up for phone triage at the front reception desk Supports current transition to fully Electronic Medical Record conversion and other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Two years’ experience with general medical office duties and processes
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two years community college studies in applicable subjects such as health data services, health information technician, health information management, medical records, and/or protected health information (PHI)
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
Experience in the healthcare field
Medical records experience
Experience with office equipment and current technology including but not limited to computing, copying, scanning, faxing and indexing

Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Spokane, Washington provides home and ambulatory infusion services to pediatric and adult patients in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon.
