Providence Professional Development Specialist - NICU in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Professional Development Specialist - NICU (PHC) Professional Development, Days, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Health Care Region in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
The Department of Professional Development aligns its performance expectations with the Association for Nursing Professional Development Standards of Professional Practice which describes roles and competencies for NPD Specialists
Primarily one of educational consultant, interacting with and serving caregivers across the organization about matters related to clinical education, retention, and engagement.
Be expected to serve as an educator/learning facilitator, teaching individuals and groups in a variety of settings including classrooms, online, and in simulation-based activities.
Serve as a team and project leader, a mentor, a change agent, and a champion for quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrate competency in a variety of areas that support the roles described above, including:
Evidence-based Practice and Research
Quality of Nursing Professional Development Practice
Professional Practice Evaluation
Mentorship/Advancing the Profession
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field from a nationally accredited program and Master's Degree from an accredited program.
Master’s degree must be in Nursing if Bachelor’s Degree is in another discipline
Current Washington State RN License
National Certification in clinical specialty required at time of hire
Professional Development Practitioner certification within 2 years of hire
3 years recent nursing experience in clinical specialty area appropriate to Professional Development Specialist (PDS) role
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
3 years educator or faculty role
3 years progressive leadership roles within nursing
