Providence Health & Services Patient Care Coordinator in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Patient Care Coordinator (Admissions, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Answers multi line phone system to clinic standards, including proper chart documentation.
Understanding HIPAA and patient privacy.
Applies knowledge of practice policies and procedures related to scheduling and front desk functions.
Responsible for triaging & coordination of patient referrals.
Serves as an informational resource regarding access to programs and resources.
Works collaboratively with referring clinics, clinicians, and departments to ensure ease of patient access.
Responsible for new patient registration which includes necessary paperwork and creating a new chart.
Verifies patients’ insurance eligibility, authorization, and coverage for services and enters information into systems as appropriate. Prepares documentation as needed for all stakeholders.
Provides clinic check-in and check-out:
Ensures documentation is complete and signed. Able to accurately describe the purpose of the documentation to the patient and/or a family member.
Assumes primary responsibility for the accurate and timely scheduling for patients and families needing Therapy services. This may include coordination of specialty visits and outpatient equipment resources.
Serves as primary contact for cancellations or rescheduling of patients for services and inputs information into all systems as appropriate.
Completes processes for appointment reconciliation.
Responsible for day-to-day processes and patient flow for clinic and assigned providers.
Scanning and faxing as required by clinic.
Reception area management. Keeping reception area clean and tidy, including personal space.
May be responsible for minimal Therapy Aide duties at off site locations such as wiping down treatment tables, changing linen and management of linen supply.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Medical terminology knowledge
1 year of customer service related experience
1 year of experience in medical office with patient scheduling
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Billing or insurance company experience
