Nuclear Medical Technologist - SHMC

On-call, Day Shift position.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures at the direction of the Cardiologist. The technologist must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Nuclear Medicine principles while using the departmental procedure manual. Considerable independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative is required to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures. Teamwork is critical.

Individualizes patient care using age related concepts based on the unit population assigned for neonates (0-1 month), infants (1 month to age 1), toddlers (1-2 years), preschoolers (3-5 years), school age (6-12 years), adolescents (13-17 years), and adult patients including early adult (18-35 years), middle adult (36-65 years), and older adult (66 years) by applying age related concepts . . . including knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, collection and interpretation of data, treatments and care typically required, and participating in the evaluation of care. Utilizes age related concepts when communicating with patients and families, using medical equipment, participating in diagnostic or other procedures, and when teaching patients/families.


Required qualifications:

  • Certified by Washington State and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART-NM), or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or registry eligible

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 or 4 year degree in nuclear medicine

  • Basic Adult and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training
