Providence Food Services Supervisor in Spokane, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Food Services Supervisor (Dietary, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Assist manager with supervision of the daily activities of food services department site staff, performance counseling, and corrective action.

  • Oversee catering function, including processing the catering request, planning the catering menu, setting up daily catering production list and ensuring quality standards are met with catered functions.

  • As needed, prepares food according to written standardized recipes, pre-established menus, and other preparation directions.

  • Ensure quality food service standards are met, ensure safe handling of food, and ensures and a safe food-handling environment.

  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders; places orders with vendors.

  • Verify invoices for payment processing.

  • Prepare daily cafeteria menus.

  • Monitor food availability and presentation in the cafeteria. Assists with flow of traffic in café and cashier assistance as needed.

  • Guide and participate in the cleaning and sanitizing of the kitchen equipment, utensils, hoods, floors and work surfaces.

  • Inspect food service equipment regularly and initiates and submits repair requests.

  • Perform weekly special count inventory on non-perishable items and vendor items, as well as receives and oversees rotation and storage of food items.

  • Assist manager with interviews for food service staff.

  • Prepare routine daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

  • Create staff schedule for manager approval (including schedule for training).

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of a food service-related program, such as hotel and/or restaurant management or Certified Dietary Manager or 4 years of food service institutional or restaurant management experience

  • Food Handlers permit obtained within 14 days of employment
