Providence Director of Nursing - Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Director of Nursing ( Nursing Administration, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Under the direction of the Chief Operating/Nursing Officer (COO/CNO), the Director leads and supports the culture and vision for nursing practice and interprets that practice to the urban system of interdisciplinary nurses patient care providers. Specific areas of business and operational accountability may include, but are not limited to: Intensive Care, Medical, Oncology, General Surgical, Advanced Care, Respiratory Care, Nursing Admin Supervisors, Renal Care Group Liaison, Emergency Dept, and Family Maternity Center.
In this position you will:
Assume 24-7 accountability for the quality and safety of care delivery, operational patient care leadership and management, physician relations, regulatory readiness, magnet preparation activities, operational business management, and professional development
Have a comprehensive understanding of management, patient care, nursing excellence standards and business principles and applies those principles achieving targets set for work performance and quality/safety/satisfaction outcome standards
Be accountable for participating in the development and the implementation of a performance assessment and improvement plan for the department(s) with input from managers, staff and integral interdisciplinary team members
Work closely with leaders to align leadership styles and approaches to support high levels of caregiver and patient engagement
Act as second in command for day to day leadership of Providence Holy Family Hospital when the COO/CNO is not readily available
Reflect a professional, participative and facilitative style and role model this style and coach managers to include staff into the decision-making processes
Oversee the implementation of key initiatives into the department(s) strategy and tactics promoting interdisciplinary and collegial relationship
Provide oversight and coaching to Managers facilitating preparation and delivery of crucial or difficult conversations necessary to provide competent care
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field
Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care or Leadership field
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
5 years of experience in specific clinical setting in a managerial or leadership capacity
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Managerial experience in nursing
