Providence is calling a Nutrition Center Clinical Technician (Clinical Nutrition,Day Shift, 0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Customer Service: Maintains and promotes positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMC
Communication: Promotes and demonstrates effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills
Self Management: Demonstrates self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment
Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrates good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect
Teamwork: Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming
Flexibility: Demonstrates flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work
Knowledge of Job:
Understand polices and procedures outlined in manuals and pertaining to the responsibilities of a Clinical Dietetic Technician.
Effectively utilizes computerized diet office system to perform assigned tasks.
Relevant information obtained at educational seminars is interpreted and applied to existing skills.
Develop knowledge and skills in new areas of dietetics, if appropriate.
Communicate and shares information regarding new or existing policy and procedure to nursing units, if required.
Demonstrate understanding of specialized diets/diet therapy
Effectively utilizes phone system to manage patient calls
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree: Graduate from an approved under graduate nutrition program -or-
Coursework/Training: Completion of first three years in pre-dietetics
Registration with the American Dietetic Association as a dietetic technician
Registered with American of Nutrition and Dietetics as a dietetic technician, or registration eligible, or education
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Experience with population of ages to be served (infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age child, adolescent, early adult, middle adult, older adult) as a clinical dietetic technician
