Providence is calling a Team Assistant (Home Health Spokane Vna, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to SCS Home Health in Spokane Valley, WA. The Team Assistant assists Team Leader and Unit Colleagues with accurate, timely and efficient information exchange. The Team Assistant promotes effective and efficient functioning of the unit by acting as a communication hub, supporting all unit members.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, and a combination of at least 4 years college education or experience.

  • Minimum one (1) year successful work experience in Health Unit Coordinator, Ward Secretary or similar position that includes close teamwork, problem solving and public and employee relations.

  • Successful problem-solving skills, able to prioritize and process incoming information from multiple sources.

  • Computer literacy including data entry skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Phone experience handling multiple calls.

  • Acceptable references from former employer(s) able to comment on work related skills.

  • Communication: Functionally able to listen, read, speak and write using English language, with highly effective interpersonal skills.

  • Mental demands: Ability to consistently, flexibly and calmly prioritize information from multiple sources: 1:1, telephone, voicemail, Microsoft mail and FAX. Demonstrated problem solving skills, patience, and ability to exercise independent judgment within parameters of role as well as seek guidance when indicated. Emotional stability to function effectively in unpredictable situations.

  • Physical demands: Work requires visual attention, functional auditory abilities and manual dexterity to perform job duties. Sedentary periods for telephone interactions.

  • Nature of work requirements: Functional ability to utilize office equipment i.e., computer, files, copy machine. Negative TB screen, HIV/AIDS training.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certification as Health Unit Coordinator.

  • Experience as NAC or other role as member of health team, caring for persons who are ill or injured.

  • Experience working with elderly population.
