This position is full time and can work remote in the following locations: WA, OR, AK, TX, MT, CA, NM.

In this position you will:

• Identify opportunities to impact risk adjustment factors through documentation and formulate a provider query based on query guidelines with timely provider follow-up.

• Ensure medical charts reflect accurate and current conditions, including but not limited to severity of illness.

• Use creative problem solving to discover new alternatives to system problems, and then works within systems to improve existing practice then continually monitor effect.

• Assist Population Health leadership in developing new data projects and elements for the collection, monitoring and reporting of both clinical and Quality Improvement outcomes.

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among coders, providers and nurses to identify documentation opportunities that appropriately reflect severity of illness and risk of mortality.

• Assist in coordinating the work of all the data collected and associated databases.

• Assist in monitoring database integrity. Recommend strategies for improving record keeping processes, attend meetings to present current clinical documentation trends, findings and provide education on the impacts of clinical documentation.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree OR Coursework/Training sufficient for RN licensure

  • Current Washington State RN License

  • 3 years Nursing experience in a hospital or physician practice environment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) preferred.
