Providence Health & Services Technical Program Manager in Seattle, Washington
The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager, Digital Innovation Group to be responsible for managing a technology program, successfully delivering improvements to a product and/or to meet program goals. You partner with others as needed to deliver cross-functional projects. You build relationships with stakeholders and make sure the right people, from a cross-functional perspective, are part of problem discovery, problem elucidation, and solution design.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Focus on the larger business and technology picture, including customer experience, provider experience, processes, opportunities and/or problems to be solved.
Deeply understand the business and technical requirements of the solutions being built and drive the right outcomes.
Own system launch plans, ensuring effective and timely coordination and collaboration with all internal teams, as well as stakeholders outside of Digital Innovation, including but not limited to clinical, operational, compliance, and financial areas.
Required qualifications for this position include:
BS in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or engineering fields.
5 years of relevant industry experience shipping consumer-facing and/or enterprise software and have delivered solutions end to end.
You are adept at owning communications about the project and it status to various stakeholders.
You have demonstrated experience of being responsible for managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program with considerable impact. This includes many examples of ensuring rapid progress by ensuring timely and effective decision-making, clearing blockers, and escalating effectively and appropriately.
Track record of understanding the needs of technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, helping all parties to make appropriate trade-offs by considering the larger picture
Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical managers to scope technical efforts, set project priorities / milestones and drive delivery
Practiced at ensuring project success metrics have been defined with appropriate representation from all stakeholder groups
Able to manage the overall launch schedule, including risk mitigation
Able to look down the road and plan for the unexpected, ensuring that related systems and automated / manual processes (upstream and downstream) are not broken by changes related to your program, nor is your program broken by related changes in external systems / processes
Ability to act as scrum master, or effectively empower and/or coach another team member in that role (daily stand-ups, story prioritization, team retrospective meeting facilitation, sprint planning, etc.)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or engineering fields.
