The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are seeking a Software Engineer I to have the knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures of software engineering, and can resolve routine issues. You have tremendous potential for growth and are expected to realize this potential by steadily increasing your skills, knowledge and contribution. You meet defined commitments and deadlines. You effectively communicate status and risks to your team and manager
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
You may often receive detailed instruction on assignments, and your work is usually reviewed by your manager or more senior engineers.
You partner with the product team in design and testing of new features to rapidly attain business objectives.
You own and implement projects, with guidance from more experienced team members.
You update code at every level relevant to your job – from UI, to application, to service, down to the database.
You adhere to engineering process: don’t break builds, address 500 errors, don’t hoard merge queue.
You take ownership and quickly resolve any problems that you cause.
You maintain code quality during project implementation. You are productive.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s in one of the following disciplines Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering.
You may have just graduated from college or graduate school, or have 0-2 years of typical relevant experience shipping enterprise software utilizing SOA.
0-2 years of combined system architecture experience across multiple OSes, languages and frameworks or typical experience
You possess basic design, implementation and testing skills, and you work on problems of limited complexity.
Must pass technical coding test and as well as in-person technical interviews that demonstrate the ability to design and development using one of the following objected oriented languages: C , C# and Java.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s in one of the following disciplines Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering.
