Providence Health & Services Senior Mobile Quality Assurance Engineer - Consumer Innovation Group in Seattle, Washington


The Consumer Innovation Group (CIG) at Providence St Joseph Health (PSJH) is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is creating health related businesses in areas like women’s health, senior services and chronic disease. This group partners closely with Providence care givers and patients to create new services and tools designed to support a patient’s ongoing health between episodes of care.

We are looking for a highly motivated, customer centric Sr. Mobile QA Engineer with a deep understanding of latest test methodologies and techniques. Successful candidates will have passion for the customers’ needs and an excitement to work with a team of top-notch mobile developers to build out our end to end mobile apps. You will define creative and comprehensive test plans, test code at the user level, both manually and with the aid of automated tools, manage defects and resolve issues/bugs. You will work closely with Software Development, Product Management and Customer Support teams to deliver high quality, scalable systems that delight our customers.

What you'll do:

  • Testing strategy development

  • Front and back end white box testing

  • Requirements and Functional Specifications review

  • Mentor and encourage more junior staff

  • Test environment configuration/management

  • Improve the software development process

  • Advocate for the customer


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of software development and/or testing experience, with at least 3 years of experience with web-based applications and mobile applications

  • Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions

  • Proven experience in identifying the relationship of bugs to software code

  • Passionate about software quality
