Providence Health & Services Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist Acute Care Nursing in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist to Providence Health & Services in Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist that serves as a nursing/clinical informatics expert, supporting all clinical staff roles throughout the care continuum (as assigned) in the specialty of Clinical Informatics.
In this position you will:
Develop curriculum for clinical information and communication systems and provide education for current and new customers.
Analyze multiple approaches/solutions to the informatics issue or problem. Develop a recommended informatics solution for the specific issue or problem and manages the process for implementing the solution to the informatics issue or problem.
Provide ministry and Regional recommendations on procedures and innovative solutions to improve efficient, reliable use of the clinical information systems.
Document, evaluate and prioritize clinical users’ requested clinical information system improvements and communicates prioritized requests to Regional and Health System Clinical Informatics and Clinical Practice Transformation councils.
Serve as a ministry expert and principal contact for Clinical Information System project-related activity. Manage and integrate groups of diverse disciplines in collaborative activities by acting as key liaison and facilitating cross-function communication.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, information technology/informatics, business, management, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a position that had the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting.
Associate's Degree or Certification in clinical discipline (e.g. nursing, respiratory therapy, medical assistant, surgery technician, pharmacy technician), education, information technology, business administration, or a related healthcare or IS field with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a position that had the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Frequent travel among regional facilities.
Occasional travel among Providence regions.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle for transportation throughout the region.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a clinical discipline such as Nursing, or healthcare field.
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline such as Nursing, Medical Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Dietetics, Rehabilitation Therapies, Pharmacy, etc.
Informatics certifications or credentialing.
