Providence Health & Services RN Training Coordinator in Seattle, Washington

Providence is calling an RN Training Coordinator (Clinical Education, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle, Washington . This position will promote consistent resident care through the orientation and ongoing training of all staff and volunteers.

The function of the position actively incorporates the Mission and Vision of Providence Health Systems.

In this position you will:

  • Organizes and oversees the orientation of new nurses to the facility by utilizing preceptors or 1:1 as needed for any special training needs, e.g. computer training. Monitors their progress and provides information to the assigned supervisors. Ensures successful completion of orientation requirements before releasing new licensed nurses from training status.

  • Consistently seeks input as to training needs and provides ongoing inservices which are responsive to identified needs and regulatory requirements to ensure a high quality of care and service.

  • Provides ongoing training for nurses with the LTC Computer program. Works with the supervisor in evaluation of computer skills when requested or when noted to be deficient.

  • Works in conjunction with the Resource Center to monitor required documentation of all staff; to include licenses, TB status, etc.

  • Assumes the responsibility to acquire needed knowledge to perform and teach clinical nursing skills competently.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Washington

  • 3 years of experience as an RN, at least one year of which is in direct care

  • Teaching experience in an Assisted Living or SNF environment

  • Valid Basic Life Support Instructor certification within 30 days of hire

  • Current CPR Certification within 90 days of hire

  • Food Handler's Permit (or must obtain within 14 days of hire)

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
