Providence Research Contracts Manager PSJH in Seattle, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Research Contracts Manager PSJH to our location in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA or any of our Providence locations in CA, AK, MT, NW, NM. ( Portland or Seattle locations preferred).
We are seeking a Research Contracts Manager PSJH who will provide professional expertise in the review, negotiation, and preparation, tracking and finalization of the clinical trial agreements, exclusive of the study budget. Collaborate with appropriate Research Operations teams (especially Budget teams) and local program administrative teams and provide guidance to junior team members.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for a variety of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, data use agreements, material transfers, CTAs, collaboration agreements, and research services agreements
Be responsible for the drafting, negotiation, editing, review, and finalization of agreements with industry sponsors and other sponsoring organization ensuring compliance with Providence's internal procedures as well as requirements of FDA and other regulatory agencies
Consult with local team to determine necessary agreement types, provide training and ongoing education to staff on research agreement requirements
Closely monitor status of outstanding agreements/amendments, and provide updates to appropriate teams as needed
Establish and promote positive working relationships within the department, and between other institutions and sites through the system
Develop contractual language, standard terms and clauses, templates and master agreements for use by Contracting team
Act as primary liaison with sponsor to negotiate contract terms and execution
Collaborate with Research Ops team, local program staff, and system staff as needed to ensure consistency and local needs being met
Serve as resource and subject matter expert for research contracting
Identify and recommend process improvements, engages in special projects as assigned
Operate with a high degree of autonomy and independence, escalating issues as necessary
Serve as resource and provide training for less experienced team members
Provide training and education to stakeholders, partners, and customers on system research contracting issues
Required qualifications for this position include:
J.D. or 3 additional years of directly related contracting experience in lieu of J.D.
3-5 years of experience drafting, negotiating, and finalizing clinical research agreements
3-5 years of in-depth experience with privacy law, HIPAA compliance, and intellectual property in the context of research
3-5 years experience as subject matter expert in clinical research contracting, strong institutional knowledge
