Providence Physical Therapist Assistant in Seattle, Washington

Providence is calling a Physical Therapy Assistant (Physical Therapy, Day Shift, 0.8 FTE) to Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Provides care in accordance with physician orders and the established plan of care by the evaluating Physical Therapist. Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and consults with the supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment to achieve goals.

  • Implements therapy plan of care in collaboration with the Physical Therapist and the multi-disciplinary team to include therapeutic exercises, modality treatments and massage, functional activity training including bed mobility, transfers and gait training.

  • Demonstrates an ability to treat the wide range of diagnoses and be knowledgeable in therapy treatments, goals and contraindications for treatment.

  • Prepares clients for therapy, and transports them to and from therapy areas.

  • Provides client/family education and counseling regarding issues related to rehabilitation treatments and goals, safety risks and/or other issues within scope of practice. Teaches exercise programs and compensatory techniques or skills for managing ongoing physical or functional deficits.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant

  • Completion of Board-approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

  • Current Washington State PTA certification.

  • Food Handler's Permit (or must obtain within 14 days of hire)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • A year of experience with adult physical disabilities as a Physicial Therapy Assistant.
