Providence Health & Services Finance Partner PSJH in Seattle, Washington


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Finance Partner PSJH to our location in Seattle, WA.

The Finance Partner on the Ambulatory Care Network (ACN) will participate in a wide variety of financial planning services to support one or multiple pillars for the ACN within Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH). The Ambulatory Care Network is a newly established Line of Business (LOB) within PSJH with the objective of providing patients with access to an optimized, lower cost, consumer-centric, connected network of care. It is comprised of Express Care, Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Imaging, Wellness/Fitness, and employer-focused solutions, with plans to expand into other areas that meet our strategic objectives. The Finance Partner will support strategic and financial planning, operational analysis, benchmarking, pro forma development, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and business valuations. The Finance Partner will also be expected to produce periodic reporting for entities and departments, coordinate the annual budget process and long range financial plan, conduct business reviews with stakeholders, and support ad hoc analysis. The ACN is a rapid growth environment, seeking to more than double our number of sites within the next 24 months. The division functions with a startup approach within the eco system of a $25B company. The team is seeking a dynamic Finance Partner to support ACN leadership in achieving these goals.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Be an Advisor to senior leadership including EVP, SVP, VP, Senior Director and other management teams. Special projects including business plan and pro forma development, especially in new business ventures.

  • Partner with leaders in proactive development of financial analytic materials and methodologies. Develops insights that support key decision-makers through critical research and analysis of operational areas such as resource utilization, organizational structure, and work methods/procedures. Interpret business trends and metrics to assist key decision makers in forming an objective view of operations, services and opportunities. Conduct studies, productivity analyses, and surveys to identify areas for financial improvement.

  • Represent PSMS Financial Planning and Analysis on work groups and acts as a lead contact for system office financial information for entity personnel.

  • Develop budgets, long-range financial plan and annual budget. Responsible for LRP and budget assumptions. Develops financial plans in line with strategies to achieve PSMS goals and objectives.

  • Develop and provide training to leadership teams and managers regarding budget reporting, metrics and related information. Facilitates education sessions either in a one-on-one environment or in large groups in person or via web.

  • Develop insights that support key decision-makers through critical research and analysis of operational areas such as resource utilization, organizational structure, and work methods/procedures.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a health care-related discipline or equivalent.

  • 6 years of analytical & business experience in financial analysis, accounting or related discipline.

  • Advanced level of proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management and data manipulation.

  • Expert experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, and information acquisition tools including experience in interpreting complex conceptual analyses and reviewing financial modeling results.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health or Business Administration

  • Finance operations including financial budgeting reimbursement and/or patient accounting.

  • Preference given to incumbents with prior experience as senior financial analysts who have demonstrated a strong ability to partner with leadership.
