Providence Senior Project Manager, Population Health Strategic Initiatives in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Project Manager, Population Health Strategic Initiatives to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Population Health Strategic Initiatives who will be responsible for supporting the enterprise Population Health Council regional and associated sub-groups and regional teams in advancing key strategic initiatives and projects in support of Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH)'s Population Health Strategy. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic project management to support regional and system-wide population health initiatives such as enabling the transition to value based care, data infrastructure to support Pop Health, enabling equitable access to healthcare.
This position fills a key position as a strategic partner to Population Health, system and regional leaders, flexibly responding to needs and enhancing the internal capability within the organization to develop and drive change, facilitate alignment and create measurable impact within the organization and in communities served by Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH).
This position will support the Population Health Council and associated sub-groups in both direct and virtual modes, track and report progress and mitigate risks for key council initiatives. The role is expected to serve in a collaborative environment, sustaining cross-regional system partnerships, cross-council initiatives and projects of varying size and complexity. The position requires superior organizational and communication skills, and an ability to organize activities and move initiatives forward in an ambiguous environment. This role will need to be comfortable with managing communication needs at an executive and operational leadership levels.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Leads development of Pop Health Council and sub-groups and initiatives of varying levels of complexity from planning phase through transition to operations using combination of project management, change management, facilitation, and business management expertise. Works with system, other council and regional leaders to develop and document charters, objectives and metrics, action plans, stakeholder engagement and communication plans, and monitoring systems. Ensures tracking of deliverables, objectives and outcomes for each project. Provides project status reporting to sponsors, council team and other stakeholders as requested. Develops project-specific escalation and issue management protocols.
Sets up and leads multi-disciplinary work teams to deliver on key deliverables and deadlines. Ensures effective communication, training, and post-implementation support strategies are created and implemented among all stakeholder groups.
Responsible for positive relationship management with project team members, as well as assisting teams.
Proactively informs and influences others in order to maintain the balance required between business needs and other organizational constraints. Experience facilitating decision-making among multiple stakeholders with varying priorities. Provides a tailored approach to the needs of the stakeholder(s) with an eye towards ensuring solutions are both sustainable and scalable.
Engages stakeholders in solving problems of varying complexity, strategic priority and visibility. Utilizes change management and performance improvement tools. Builds awareness and commitment to the change effort, and leads the ongoing communications and alignment of stakeholders throughout the process.
Identifies, gathers, and analyzes all pertinent data, research and/or information necessary to help make recommendations, inform decisions and accomplish project goals. Processes information quickly and can translate and communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.
Assists in the development of key deliverables, as needed.
Conducts pre- and post-mortems for key initiatives and makes recommendations for improvement based on those assessments.
Stays aligned with and shares best practices with other members of the Pop Health Leadership team as a way of improving upon the collective function of the council
Performs other duties and special projects as required and assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work or related discipline or equivalent experience.
6 years of previous project management, consulting, health planning, and/or business analysis experience.
Experience in managing virtual teams.
3 years experience in healthcare operations for an understanding of the nature of the work performed.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience or equivalent education/experience.
Change management, facilitation, and process improvement methodologies with substantial project management experience of complex, multi-regional, strategically important initiatives.
