Providence Senior Collaboration Technology Specialist PSJH in Renton, Washington


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Collaboration Technology Specialist PSJH to our location in Renton, WA; Redmond, WA; Portland, OR; Beaverton, OR or Anaheim, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Collaboration Technology Specialist PSJH to be responsible for providing operational support, service and leadership to assist Providence St. Joseph Health caregivers with effective utilization of collaborative technologies. This includes daily operational support, configuring, launching and monitoring bridged video conferences; consulting and improving productivity through advanced multimedia technologies; development and presentation of written, audio and visual training curriculum; implementation of work management methodologies through coordinating process improvement for changes or adoptions to applications in conjunction of collaboration technologies.

Performs all duties while upholding Providence mission, values, and philosophy serving as a role model for information technology integrity and stewardship.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with vendors and regional departments with purchasing and fiscal measures in regards to vendor management and asset management. Provide input on work estimates and budgets for IT initiatives that involve video conferencing infrastructure environments. Possess a working understanding of, provide input, and assist with technical support with video conference services for all hardware and software installed. Including, but not limited to the video conference bridges, desktop video, web and audio, and the design of video conferencing infrastructure employing cameras, lighting, and staging.

  • Responsibilities include planning, design, and operations of multi-system and multi-platform infrastructures to support several services including but not limited to Telepresence, group, desktop, scheduling, integration to desktop unified communications platforms, voice and video call control, call routing and dial-plan management. Identify opportunities available with evolving network technologies. Focus on evolving standards in the video communications industry and assess the financial and business impact.

  • Possess background, knowledge, and confidence to assist in setting global configuration, deployment, and event standards including equipment selection, vendor selection, and operational processes and procedures. Experience in generating and maintaining requirements, test and evaluate possible future technical architectures, analyze and resolve complex system issues, leading and/or participating in operational reviews and providing technical guidance based upon expertise. Work under minimal or no supervision without requiring detailed instructions regarding the execution of tasks specific to performing video systems support services, and the ability to effectively set priorities without direction. Performs complex tasks, decision making or in-depth analysis with minimal direction.

  • Ability to delegate responsibilities among team; assist in prioritizing projects and effectively address challenging situations, escalated issues, difficult conditions with customers, extended support staff and vendors. Ability to build team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines including current and potential affiliates. Provide training, mentoring, and technical leadership to staff of various technical skill levels including level one and two. Contributes at a senior level, and uses strategic thinking to impact and influence cross-functional groups regarding collaboration technologies.

  • Consults with event or meeting planning management of a large (large events include those with multiple support staff not limited to technical staff and may include non-PSJH venues) event using multiple technologies as well as in room lighting and staging. Directing CTS associates to an excellent outcome of a large corporate-wide events.

  • Involvement in the architecture and design of CTS SharePoint site implementations. Manage SharePoint f.

  • Manage, audit, delegate, and implement documentation of CTS standards, guidelines and procedures. Analyzes information obtained through observation, document review, regular audit reports, written policies and procedures, and other material related to applications, function, or activity under review. Assist with coordinating streaming production to ensure the proper equipment, personnel and resources are allocated prior, during and post event providing communication for processes, lessons learned and best practices for proficient streaming measures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project managers to develop milestones and deliverables on New VC Rooms and Refresh projects. Experience in design/installation of integrated video conference build-outs with touch panel controllers and other equipment (such as sound structure, iPads, and Crestron). Ensure that quality expectations are achieved and standard operating procedures are followed through collaboration across teams.

  • Plan, develop and coordinate change management plans and strategies; identify integration points with other change management efforts. Follow enterprise change control management systems and processes. Lead efforts to improve processes leveraging established ITIL guidelines and industry benchmarks. Serve as subject matter expert and owner for the change management process within CTS.

  • Responsible for ensuring that relevant changes to assets and materials are accurate. Manage deployed equipment, certification document and input information in the ITAM databases. Reconcile the ITAM databases as required, review the databases, and verify the items are correct. Ensure disposal of equipment in compliance of PSJH standards – Including removal of data and defaulting to factory settings. Provides support as delegate for Video Conference Manager in lieu of absence for Kronos and PR3 and other duties as assigned.

  • Design, develop and update training documentation or materials on new applications and for new products, new tools and process changes. Assist Level 2 with updates to current supported applications. Ongoing evaluation of methods to measure quality and skills testing that will allow for structured feedback to users for new products, new tools and process changes. Create scalable and measureable tools to help measure gaps and training opportunities in the current environment.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent education/experience.

  • Certificate of Completion through Polycom Learning Center (or similar) demonstrating advanced video bridge software management training.

  • 5 years responsible experience in a Customer Service role supporting technical applications or collaborative technologies.

  • 4 years experience with any combination of large, executive-level meeting/event coordination & production experience involving multiple audio visual technologies.

  • 2 years as a Video Bridge Operator, supporting Polycom (or similar) technology including the documented certifying and deployment of new technologies or software up-grades, and/or progressively responsible Application Administration experience.
