Providence Health & Services Referral Services Specialist in Renton, Washington
Providence is calling a Referral Services Specialist to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Referral Services Specialist to be the first point of contact for the providers and employers contacting the designated referral line for both groups. Coordinates effective communication between Swedish Medical Center, SMG, physicians, patients, employers, insurers and appropriate government agencies. The primary customers are external providers, employers but not limited to direct patient’s interaction.
In this position you will:
Handle all communications and case related inquiries due to provider or employer referral on a daily basis.
Keep report of all referral line cases (opened, active or in progress, closed) by a provider or employer. Ensures that active case records are accurate, current and accessible for internal use.
Coordinates necessary logistics and follows up with internal Swedish appointed individuals, providers, local health authorities, port agents, and vendors to ensure appropriate referral services delivery to all clients (providers and employers).
Handles all referral services and follows up with involved participants, providers or employers. Consults all medical details with the respective internal consultant doctor on duty prior to communicating with the client.
Educate involved parties of the referral service program process.
Keep electronic updated copies of all templates and client protocols for the referral service program.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in healthcare associated field. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
3 years experience working in the medical field.
5 years customer service.
Knowledge of Cruise line industry and related occupational medicine.
Possesses proficiency with personal computer, Microsoft software applications, Epic Hyperspace.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to provide excellent customer service via telephone and in person as well as problem solving skills.
Demonstrated track record of successful public relations in health care setting, with possession of strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of Workers Compensation laws, procedures and regulations.
Certification in a health related field.
