Providence Health & Services Manager, Application Pharmacy in Renton, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager, IS Pharmacy to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Manager, Application Pharmacy to be responsible for implementing strategic and operational initiatives related to IS application operations. Responsibilities include developing and implementing tactical plans for the Applications team. Tracks and monitors the capital and operating budgets for their specific area of team responsibilities. Participation in projects and management of on-going daily support of operations. This position is responsible for leading, mentoring and developing supervisors and high level analysts to insure daily operational readiness and competency. The Manager is also responsible for vendor interaction and management at a level commensurate with the application engagement including review of vendor strategy and roadmaps.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Develop and implement appropriate service delivery models for core application functions in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.
Responsible for working with supervisors and staff in ensuring adherence to standards, and continuously evaluating the effectiveness of application systems.
Monitors the performance of applications within their domain and evaluates the performance of services on the basis of specific KPIs.
Oversees budgeting and expenditures for applications and teams within their span of control.
Develops team budgets and manages expenditures related to team operations, including application maintenance in partnership with other application leaders and the PMO.
Escalates critical issues, problems or delays in production, projects or any other issues that has an impact on the customer.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or equivalent education/work experience.
3 years of Information Services leadership experience, and 5 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to successfully execute operational plans for highly complex issues and applications; healthcare information services operations and support; experience standardizing complex and disparate processes; understanding of methodologies related to application management such as system deployment, support, and life cycle; experience in process improvement methodology, change management, operational improvement in complex systems. Must have proven ability to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization both verbally and in written form. Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.
Proven experience with lab systems in use at PH&S/Swedish.
Proven leadership experience building strong working teams, customer partnering experience, and collaborative work effort.
Healthcare experience of 3 years in a lab related field.
Experience in application support management and solid interface understanding.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary groups and to accomplish work through supervisors and leads, or high level individual contributors.
Must be action oriented and possess superior judgment, critical thinking, problem solving and cognitive skills.
Ability to comprehend customer business needs with respect to customer’s requests and PH&S IS objectives, mission and core values.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and information needs across team domain, as well as, organize short-term and long-term responsibilities in response to changing demands.
Respected leadership skills, particularly in the areas of application life-cycle management with knowledge regarding core vendor roadmaps.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage information technology in a specific team domain.
Ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others within the team domain and with peers.
Excellent written and verbal communications.
Possesses solid planning and organizing capabilities.
Proficiency with MS Office suite of products.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree in Information Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related IS or healthcare field.
