Providence Labor Consultant PSJH in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Labor Consultant PSJH to our location in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Labor Consultant PSJH who will be responsible for serving as a strategic labor consultant to local HR and operational leaders who face organizing activity where subject-matter expertise is needed. The role includes facilitating and recommending best practice approaches to labor and employee relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, investigation guidance, and making recommendations for workplace environment improvement. A LRC will provide seasoned expertise and appropriate competency based systems to support regulatory and agency requirements, as well as all federal and state employment laws. Maintains HR metrics and dashboards and reports to other HR professionals so actions can be aligned with findings.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Analyzes Ministry/business needs; acts quickly to generate alternative approaches and recommendations for labor relations and employee relations strategies; provides long-term and broad views regarding labor implications of business decisions.
Partners with local HR, business leaders and Labor and Employment Counsel to plan and review labor relations and employee relations strategies and communication plans to attain goals.
Works collaboratively with HR staff to manage risk and make recommendations for the administration and delivery of HR services (Risk Management, regulatory bodies, EEOC and state agencies-Affirmative Action, Worker’s Comp, ADA/LOA, Wage & Hour, Wrongful Discharge).
Analyzes and interprets HR data and other data sources for trends and opportunities.
Advocates fair & appropriate workplace practices in accordance with mission, values, legal parameters.
Promotes and utilizes HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business. Collaborates with local HR and others if new tools are needed to ensure customers are provided trend reports and analytics in the most efficient manner.
Partner with local HR or HRCs to assist with environmental and vulnerability assessments when needed.
Collaborate with local HR to provide consultation to managers on mitigation strategies.
Assists in training and education to all levels of the organization.
In conjunction with Labor/Employment Counsel, may serve as a labor relations consultant and analyst in preparing for labor relations training and vulnerability assessments.
Collaborate with Labor/Employment Counsel to prepare for and support collective bargaining negotiations and contract implementation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree and SPHR/PHR certificate.
8 years related work experience.
Experience at an exempt level as a HR Strategic Partner or HR Consultant.
Multi-site/location, multi-line of business, and/or integrated health system experience.
Demonstrates advanced experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: labor relations, ADAAA, Leaves of Absence, Affirmative Action, mediation, or OD.
