Providence is calling a Utility Systems Technician (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Day Shift) to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

Performs a variety of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting duties and/or installation of HVAC, electrical, security / fire alarm and/or control systems for both St Peter Hospital and off-site Clinic/Hospital facilities. Provides monthly improvement report to Department Director. Reports to the Director of Facility and Technology Services.
In this position you will:
Recommend and implement preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC / control, fire alarm / security and electrical systems infrastructure throughout St Peter service region (St Peter Hospital, Professional Building, Emilie Gamelin Pavilion, Psychiatry Building, Sunshine House, Lacey Dialysis, Chemical Dependency Center and off-site locations as requested).
Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC / control, fire alarm / security and electrical systems issues within St Peter facilities.
Repair and maintain ventilation and control systems and components including: fan system, chillers (centrifugal / reciprocating), package air handling units and their associated controls.
Repair and maintain fire alarm and security systems.
Repair and maintain electrical infrastructure (emergency and normal power).
Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repair history in accordance with Department policy.
Maintain refrigerantuse records in accordance with EPA requirements.
Perform HVAC, fire alarm / security and electrical system installation or modification as requested by customer and / or approved by Department Director or Lead.
Train plant operations and maintenance in HVAC, fire alarm and electrical system operations and troubleshooting.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Three (3) years’ experience and working knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, security and / or refrigeration systems (including ventilation systems, emergency power, electrical distribution, security systems, chillers, hydronic systems and control systems).
Working experience with fire alarm, security and building control systems (Seimens Building System and / or Invensys Control Systems preferred).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
HVAC air and hydronic balance experience.
Working knowledge and experience with testing and troubleshooting simplex fire alarm systems.
Experience working in a healthcare setting.
Working knowledge and experience with operating, testing and troubleshooting of emergency generators and transfer switches.
