Providence Health & Services Unit Secretary - Emergency Services in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Unit Secretary (0.9 FTE, Nights) to work in Emergency Services at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.
The unit secretary performs general clerical, receptionist, and secretarial duties in support of the patient care area.
In this position you will:
Greet and assist visitors arriving to the unit:
Welcome visitors with eye contact, smile and friendly greeting.
Respond to and assist with patient, staff and visitor questions.
Acknowledge questions or concerns and meet immediate needs or finds someone who can help.
Perform clerical duties:
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the EHR to manage patient registration/admit/transfer/discharge.
Run reports and audits from the EHR as directed.
Schedule patient appointments and tests. Obtains insurance information as applicable. Demonstrate proficiency in the basic use of Microsoft Office products.
Answer the telephone and direct calls:
Speak with warmth and clarity.
Assist/provide information or appropriately transfer calls.
Arrange interpreter services as needed.
Assist with the ordering, tracking, maintenance and organization of unit equipment and supplies:
Order office and other supplies as directed.
Enter requests for maintenance of equipment.
Maintain inventories and orderliness of forms, brochures, and other print materials. Order as appropriate.
Maintain patient and department records:
Correct procedures are followed for the management of the patient paper chart/records.
Filing and storage of department records is orderly and timely.
Required qualification for this position include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 1 year of clerical experience in the medical field
