Providence Health & Services Sterile Processing Technician - Core Tech in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Sterile Processing Technician - Core Tech to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
The Core Technician will performs delegated activities and tasks to support the operating room team. The Core Technician prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Technicians are responsible for the care, inventory and storage of surgical equipment, instrumentation and supplies. The Core technician will be responsible for orientating all Operating Room staff to the Surgical Core environment, process and functions.
In this position you will:
Sort, disassemble, clean and disinfect trays, instruments, carts, supplies and equipment
Assure case carts are complete for each surgery case
Provide instrument sets for surgical procedures and case carts for booked and emergency surgery
Acquire sterile items and equipment needed during the case for all the operating rooms
Create and schedule "add-on" cases through EPIC
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED or 4 years of work experience)
Completion of Central Services Technician or Surgery Technologist training program (1 year of hospital sterile processing experience will substitute for CST education requirement)
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Hospital sterile processing or health care materials management experience
Current Central Supply Certification or Surgery Technology Certification in Washington State
