Providence Mental Health Technician in Olympia, Washington
Providence is looking for a Mental Health Technician (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Psychiatric Unit at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
The Mental Health Technician provides personal care services and general therapeutic procedures to hospitalized patients in Psychiatry under the direction of a Registered Nurse or designated licensed staff.
In this position you will
Participate in patient care using unit and hospital based policies and procedures and works within the scope of practice.
Reports all significant behavioral and physical issues to licensed personnel.
Demonstrate consistent ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other work team members.
Perform basic computer-related tasks. Access to interagency computer database.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate Degree in Psychology with a Nursing Assistant Registered license or two years experience as a Mental Health Technician, Nursing Assistant in Psychiatric Services, Emergency Services or long-term care
Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) licensure
