Providence St. Joseph Health is hiring four Directors for Service Delivery of Clinical Technology Services to one of our locations in Western Washington to be based out of Olympia, WA

We are seeking a Director for Service Delivery of Clinical Technology Services who will be accountable to ensure the delivery of support services for the technology and medical device environment across the ministry(s) they serve. Reporting into the Regional Executive Director for Clinical Technology Services, this role will have accountability to work within the enterprise framework for technology and medical device management to ensure support, maintenance, planning (including financial), cyber security, and acquisition processes meet the needs of their ministry.

This role will partner closely with ministry leadership to ensure the unique needs of the ministry, as they relate to technology and the medical device environment, are understood and addressed in the service delivery model and forward-facing plan. They will act as a local leader for regulatory and/or accreditation activities and ensure their workforce meets the requirements set forth by regulatory and/or accreditation bodies.

The Ministry Director will be the "go to" person for service delivery at an operational level within their given ministries. They will partner and build relationships with key operational leaders to help proactively address service gaps to ensure ministry operations are not negatively impacted through the service delivery model. They will leverage these relationships to act as an ambassador for IS and help connect regional operations to the IS model where appropriate.

The Ministry Director for Clinical Technology Services is accountable for the local delivery of technology support services at an operational level. Having accountability for a specific set of hospital(s) or clinic(s), this role will lead the local service delivery teams and ensure high quality technology support services are delivered and optimized over time. In collaboration with peers across the region, they will work to ensure a holistic view of service delivery is understood and managed within a ministry. Leveraging this broad view, the Ministry Director will work to identify systemic issues that could be addressed through upstream engineering or partnership with the appropriate technology owners.

He/she will participate in cross functional teams within Information Services to help maintain and optimize workflows, policies, procedures, testing, compliance, etc. He/she will ensure these are up to date and meet industry standards and/or best practices. They will ensure these standards and/or best practices are communicated to their teams to ensure a common standard of service.

The Ministry Director will lead a team of clinical engineers, information technology support professionals, and other associated support roles tied to the direct delivery of technology support services in the region. This role will be accountable for the allocation of work across this diverse set of technology professionals to accommodate successful technology delivery and ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met (i.e. preventative maintenance completed, staff certifications kept up to date, etc.).

He/she will leverage data, analytics, and reporting developed at the enterprise level, to ensure the local teams are operating efficiently and meeting standard benchmarks for service delivery. Through reporting, and operational processes, he/she will identify systemic issues that can be addressed through engineering efforts to improve service delivery.

The Ministry Director will have a specific focus and understanding of the cyber security risk profile of their ministry(s) and work with operational and CTS leadership to ensure risks are mitigated and the overall risk profile is reduced.

The Ministry Director will be accountable to operate within an enterprise framework for technology service delivery as set by the enterprise CIO. Where possible, the Ministry Director will leverage system level tools, process, and technology as a preferred solution and will advocate for these system level approaches with regional leadership.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the service delivery model for a specific ministry(s). Serve as the single leader accountable for all technology services delivered within accountable ministry (technology is defined to include both clinical engineering / bio-medical technology and information technology).

  • Able to collaborate with ministry and operational leadership to drive service delivery within regional framework. Work to address service quality issues and ensure ministry customers are represented in the service delivery model.

  • Plan and support the development of individuals so they can improve their current or future performance.

  • Serve as a key member of the regional leadership team and contributes broadly at the executive level, educates and works collaboratively with all members of the leadership team in order to facilitate informed and transparent decisions.

  • Has a strong understanding of cybersecurity framework and how it applies to the clinical engineering / information technology environment.

  • Responsible for the effective communication of project status, issues, risks, and budgetary information to key stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Drive Performance: Provide timely guidance and feedback to help others excel; Establishes performance objectives and development plans, tracks performance, and evaluates progress toward goals; Works tenaciously toward stretch goals for personal and group performance.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Healthcare Administration, Biomedical Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Information Services or equivalent education/experience.

  • 10 or more years Related experience in technology service delivery, clinical engineering, bio-medical engineering, or a related field.

  • 8 years Leadership experience in technology service delivery, clinical engineering, bio-medical engineering, or a related field.

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships

  • Possesses strong product knowledge

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Possesses strong technical aptitude

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • AAMI Certification related to Healthcare Technology (CHTM).
