Providence Health & Services Services Representative - Children's Center in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Services Representative (0.5 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Children's Center at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
Serves as the initial contact for new referrals from health providers and families. Schedules evaluations and in-house referrals for children receiving services at the Children's Center.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.
Processes referrals into computer system.
Mails registration papers to new families according to departmental guidelines.
Collects insurance and benefits information on all patients.
Initially screens patient’s insurance and prepares information for full insurance verification by Department Secretary.
Ensures all possible funding sources are considered when registering a new patient.
Presents alternative funding sources to all patients with either no insurance or inadequate coverage by facilitating funding through Providence Health System and/or community and state agencies.
Refers patient to appropriate Children’s Center team member for follow-up.
Schedules all new patients for evaluation.
Schedules patients according to departmental guidelines.
Interviews new referrals to determine if services needed.
Presents new referrals weekly to the Screening Committee to determine patient needs.
Assures quality of work for front desk operations.
In collaboration with Children’s Center manager oversees clerical and administrative tasks performed by front desk staff.
Develops break schedules, provides meal coverage and schedules a variety of support tasks.
Required qualifications for this position include:
experience working with community resources.
experience working with funding sources and third party payor procedures and protocol.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Coursework/Training Human Services or related coursework
