Providence Security Officer I - Security in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Security Officer I (0.5 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in Security Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
The Security Officer I receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of security responsibilities to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, hazardous materials, and illegal entry. Enforces Providence Health Care, facility and security policies and regulations.
In this position you will:
Adhere to Providence Core Values and Code of Conduct.
Follow and maintain a working knowledge of current department policies and standard operating procedures. Enforce PRMCE policies such as identification badging, access, loitering, smoking, parking, contraband, weapons, etc.
Patrol assigned area including hospital units, clinics, and Providence property on foot or in a vehicle to deter criminal activity, to detect unauthorized activity and to identify needs for assistance. Monitor radio broadcasts by the Switchboard and other officers to provide assistance as needed. Identifies, reports, and respond to suspicious activities.
Accurately complete reports including case/incident reports, accident reports, property slips and others documents in accordance with Security policies.
Investigate thefts, shortages and other complaints involving potential criminal misconduct; notify appropriate law enforcement agencies and detains suspicious individuals when authorized; participate in subsequent court proceedings as required.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
1 year Law Enforcement/Security/Military experience or two years of responsible work experience and prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Related college course work may substitute for one year of experience
Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record
Must be able to successfully complete Field Training Officer program including Customer Service, De-escalation, Defensive Tactics, OC/Pepper Spray, CEW/Taser, Handcuffing, and CPR, as well as Basic Healthcare Security Training and Notary within six (6) months of hire
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Associate's degree
