Providence Retail Float Pharmacist in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Retail Float Pharmacist (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA. This position requires occasional travel to other Providence locations across the Northwest region.
Works at multiple sites within state(s) of licensure. Independently reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems. Contacts MD's nurses and other professionals as necessary to facilitate care. Compounds and dispenses medications, provides drug and drug therapy related information and supervises the work of pharmacy support personnel.
In this position you will:
Travels to work at retail pharmacies throughout all States of licensure.
Accurately enters MD medication order into computer system.
Checks for appropriate therapeutic use, appropriate dosage, duplicates, allergies, drug interactions, order changes and contraindications.
Contacts MD if data suggest sub- or supra- Therapeutic drug therapy or if patient safety is at risk.
Prepares pharmacokinetic consult if appropriate.
Contacts MD or nurse as necessary to clarify orders, resolve problems identified during review.
Ensures that dosage form is properly labeled. Attaches any auxiliary labels that are required
Oversees technician support of the dispensing process and checks work before prescription goes to a patient.
Performs calculations necessary for dosage form preparation and compounds the dosage forms
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Washington upon hiring, with the ability to become licensed in Oregon, Montana, and Alaska as needed
ACLS certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
