Providence Health & Services Medical Assistant - Preadmit Clinic in Everett, Washington
Description:
Providence is calling a Medical Assistant (certified) (0.75 FTE, Day Shift) in the Preadmit Clinic Department to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
In this position you will:
Work closely with physicians and mid-level providers (i.e. nurse practitioners, etc.) to help ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.
Apply your knowledge, skills, and experience in patient interactions that take place both in person and over the telephone.
Schedules appointment appropriately and coordinates schedule with physician and other providers, obtains interpreters when necessary, and works with other community agencies when necessary. Makes reminder calls to patients to ensure they keep appointments and bring necessary referrals and insurance information. Makes follow-up calls to patients to check on condition.
Obtains and records vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medication and presenting problem specific to adolescents and adults.
Assists with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures as appropriate for level of training and established procedures.
Anticipates the needs of the patient and practitioners during the exam.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
HS Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited certified medical assistant program
Current BLS - Healthcare provider (must be AHA accredited)
Current MA – Certified license through the WA St. DOH
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One year of previous experience in physician office
