Providence Medical Assistant - Insurance Authorization Specialist in Everett, Washington

The MA Referral Specialist works under the delegation of a licensed Practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA Referral Specialist performs all aspects of the MA I & II role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The MA Referral Coordinator serves as a resource to MFM providers and staff in regard to referral requirements for contracted insurance carriers, confirms contracted status of requested specialist or provides alternative suggestions if the requested specialist is not contracted with the patients insurance plan, and coordinates outside appointments for specialty referrals. This position represents the first line of communication with providers, clinical staff and office staff. This position is required to review referrals for basic elements and refer to appropriate staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants and certificate

  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

  • 3 months Healthcare experience

  • 3 months Medical Assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
