Providence Medical Assistant I&II -Multiple Locations in Snohomish County *Up to $5,000 Hiring Bonus* in Everett, Washington

Providence is calling for Medical Assistants to Providence Medical Group - Northwest Washington in the Snohomish County area.

Full time position, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE). This position is benefits eligible.

This position works under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Supervisor or Practice Manager. The position will support the delivery of cost-effective, evidence-informed and competent healthcare by following the core values of Providence Medical Group – justice, excellence, dignity, integrity, and compassion.

Position responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and prepare patients for the clinician

  • Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, presenting problem, and other medical information

  • Follow standard workflow with each patient encounter

  • Document all interactions in patient's medical record

  • Under the delegation of a licensed clinician and as appropriate per role and certification, obtain specimens, perform required testing, administer medications via oral, topical, otic, ophthalmologic or inhaled routes; administer vaccines including combination or multi-dose vaccines

  • Under the delegation of a licensed clinician, assist or perform point of care tests and clinical procedures as appropriate to scope of role and certification

  • Reinforce patient education, materials, and lab results (normal); return phone messages; all as directed by the licensed clinician

  • Follow correct procedures for safe handling and disposing of biohazards, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste

  • Perform administrative and/or clerical support duties for clinician, other medical assistants, or clinic/location as directed. (ex: schedule appointments, referrals, clinic inventory and/or outdated medications/supplies, etc.)

  • Works in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards

  • Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline

  • Consistently meet skill-based competency meet knowledge, skill, and disposition expectations established by Providence Medical Group

  • Actively participate in continuing education and clinic/location staff meetings and/or trainings

  • Assist with emergencies as needed under the direction of a licensed clinician

  • Promote the mission, vision, values and promise of the organization and serve as an ambassador for the organization when interfacing with anyone outside the organization

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) – Must be American Heart Association (AHA) accredited

Preferred qualifications:

  • Active MA-C in the state of WA

  • Six (6) months previous experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment

  • Six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR)
