Providence Health & Services Forensic RN Program Coordinator in Everett, Washington


Providence is calling a Forensic Nurse Program Coordinator – (0.8, Evenings) to Providence Health & Services in Everett, WA.

We are seeking a Forensic Nurse Program Coordinator to coordinate and perform the day to day functions of the Forensic Nurse Examiner program; including provision of physical, forensic, and emotional evaluation of sexual assault patients without physician presence.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.

  • Conduct interviews utilizing age appropriate methods according to protocols, documents utilizing appropriate report form, dictate final report within 24 hours of examination, and reviews documentation in a timely manner with ARNP.

  • Complete an age appropriate nursing assessment and communicates results to emergency department physician or clinic ARNP.

  • Identify potential forensic evidence.

  • Collect, package, and store evidence according to protocol.

  • Document chain of custody.

  • Communicate with appropriate law enforcement agency.

  • Identify the need for forensic toxicology assay and documents and secure samples appropriately.

  • Coordinate the Forensic Nurse Examiner emergency room response program.

  • Assist and train new Forensic Nurse Examiners.

  • Provide follow up services to patients seen by Forensic Nurse Examiners.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN to be obtained within 3 years from date of hire)

  • RN license in state of Washington.

  • BLS/ACLS Certification/recertification

  • One year direct patient care as a nurse

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One year direct patient care as a SANE or Forensic Nurse Examiner

  • SANE-A or SANE-P Certification

  • 20-40 hour Adult and Pediatric Sexual Assault Examiner training
