Providence Engineer II - Plant Operations in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling an Engineer II (1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to the Plant Operations Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

Performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the efficient operation of building utility systems to include HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, and Building Controls. This is a journey level classification which applies to the operation, maintenance and repair of crucial utilities and sophisticated equipment in an acute care healthcare setting. This job class is distinguished from the Maintenance Engineer position in that it requires higher skill levels attained through specific healthcare oriented training and experience.
In this position you will:
Maintenance, testing and repair of HVAC systems, electrical and control systems: Oversees and assists in commissioning, startups and installations of building mechanical and electrical systems and their components
Performs other maintenance duties related to HVAC, mechanical, electrical and control systems. Maintains records of equipment commissioning, maintenance and repair history in accordance with Department policy. Maintains refrigerant-use records in accordance with EPA requirements
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in providing training according to department protocols and operations. Trains Plant Operations and Maintenance engineers in HVAC, Mechanical and electrical system operations and troubleshooting
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to verbalize health and safety regulations. Works in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements for health and safety
Maintains confidentiality of records or medical center information at all times. Confidential information & conversations are secured from general public access. Ensure all faxes and other communications between the RC, the lead node, and the data management centers adhere to federal regulations. Maintains full knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Coursework/Training in Building Controls Systems
Coursework/Training in Vendor/Mfg Training
Three (3) years experience and working knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, and / or refrigeration systems (including ventilation systems, emergency power, electrical distribution, chillers, hydronic and control systems)
Working experience with fire alarm, and building control systems (prefer Siemens Building Control System, Simplex and / or Alerton Control Systems)
Working experience with contractors, manufacturers, maintenance staff and construction documentation
Working in a healthcare setting
