Providence Documentation Review Technician - Health Information Management in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Documentation Review Technician (1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to the Health Information Management Shared Home Health department at SCS Home Health in Tukwila, WA.
This position maintains clients’ health information according to established policies and procedures. Also provides clerical support that includes filing, computerized data inquiry and general clerical functions.The position is responsible for acquiring doctor-signed orders/documents in a timely manner by using the fax machine and the daily processing of incoming documents, creation of legal record and the processing and analysis of No-Go records.
In this position you will:
Review and verification of documentation, legal and electronic records.
Daily sorting and filing of documentation into the legal record.
Monitoring and tracking of signatures for all plans of care and orders.
Assist with auditing closed records.
Participates in relevant educational offerings.
Maintains and comprehends information on current payor contracts and subcontract relationships. Accesses Intranet contract information and tools as needed. Manages referrals to reflect current contractual relationships and reimbursement arrangements.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Six (6) months general office experience, preferably in a health care environment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous electronic medical records training or experience, and medical terminology
RHIT certification or working towards one
