This position offers an $15,000 bonus that will be paid to newly hired Clinical Educators (not currently working for Providence or a Providence affiliate)
$7,500 to be paid upon hire, and $7,500 after 12 months.
Providence is calling a Clinical Nurse Specialist (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Nursing Education at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an expert clinician who may practice in a specialty area with expertise in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management and systems improvement. The clinical nurse specialist influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and by implementing improvements in health care delivery systems.
In this position you will:
Conducts comprehensive, holistic wellness and illness assessment using known or innovative evidence-based techniques, tools, and direct and indirect methods.
Uses independent judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking action related to hiring, evaluating performance, disciplinary action and employee complaints and concerns
Patient, staff or system-focused interaction between professionals in which the consultant is recognized as having specialized expertise and assists consultee with problem-solving
Demonstrates ability to manage change and empower others to influence clinical practice and political processes both within and across systems
Works jointly with others to optimize clinical outcomes through collaboration, engagement and constructive problem solving
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Masters's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing.
- Ph.D from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC)
- Equivalent coursework and experience will be considered (Example: Masters in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing that did not major in the CNS role, such as those that are in Nursing Administration or Nursing Education)
3 years of registered nursing experience in area of specialty
Current RN license in the State of Washington.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years of clinical leadership responsibility
Current certification as a CNS
Current certification in area of specialty
