Providence is calling a CT - Radiology Technologist Registered (Medical/Surgical, Day Shift, 0.725 FTE, 29 hours per week) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. We are seeking a CT - Radiology Technologist Registered who will provide quality care to patients. Perform Radiology/CT exams proficiently to provide Inland Imaging Radiologist with accurate information to reach an interpretation. Participate in scheduled 24 hour on call availability, assuring evening and weekend coverage. Participate in the growth and development of the DI department and contributes ideas. Bring areas of improvement to the attention of Management

In this position you will:

  • Independently functions as an CT Technologist for patients of various age groups. Performs procedures to produce satisfactory results for diagnostic interpretation

  • Knowledge of anatomy and clinically applies it to procedures. Incorporates knowledge of growth and development into exams.

  • Able to exhibit various techniques to capture anatomy during study

  • Assess patient during exam and recognizes signs/symptoms indicative of the patients needs for intervention by reporting to the appropriate individuals.

  • Ensure patients' safety and comfort during exams.

  • Demonstrate ability to respond appropriately to emergency clinical situations.

  • Complete yearly training and exercises competence in administration of contrast agents

  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure – makes appropriate physician contact for intervention

  • Interact professionally with patient and family members.

  • Determine most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patient accordingly

  • Perform independently as a Radiological Technologist:

  • Performs all exams independently. (fluoro, surgery, tomography)

  • Proficient on all X-ray machines.

  • Knowledge of anatomy and clinically applies it to exams.

  • Incorporate knowledge of growth and development into care when performing exams.

  • Demonstrate ability to respond appropriately to emergency clinical situations.

  • Able to troubleshoot equipment.

  • Able to perform sterile technique

  • Participate in stocking room(s) for next shift.

  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure – makes appropriate physician contact for intervention

  • Interact professionally with patient and family members.

  • Determine most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patient accordingly.

  • Complete all paperwork & tracking associated with Radiology exams:

  • Obtain accurate hx for exam ordered.

  • Accurately verifies exam.

  • Locate & move jacket in ADAC system

  • Check study w/Radiologist for input

  • Order exams, Lab and enter charges:

  • Able to proficiently use EPIC

  • Provide care appropriate to the patient population:

  • ​​​​​​​Adjust care to the age-related needs of the patient

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient’s status

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the primary population of patients served in the department.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • The equivalent of two years community college/vocational training in an accredited radiological technologist training program.

  • Registration by the AART (American Association of Radiological Technologists).

  • WA State Cert.

  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification

  • One (1) year experience or equivalent.
