Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Activities to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. In this position you will:
Report to the Activity Coordinator regarding activity related issues and report to the Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor or DNS regarding nursing issues.
Take and record vital signs.
Demonstrate sensitivity to client’s emotional, social, and mental health needs.
Assist client with bathing, mouth care and skin care.
Specialize care of client at end of life. Perform postmortem care procedures.
Provide training in, and the opportunity for, self care according to clients’ capabilities.
Position, lift, transfer, wheel, ambulate client per plan of care. Consistently uses gait belt.
Complete assigned quarterly and prn documentation of observations made regarding residents’ ability to follow the care plan and functional abilities.
Assist with various groups who visit or entertain residents.
Serve a member of the Volunteer Steering Committee to promote volunteerism at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Maintain inventory and organization of activities equipment and supplies in storage areas.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completed an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course
Currently certified in Washington State
Maintains a current Food Handlers Permit
May be presently enrolled in an approved course and perform skills successfully checked off in the clinical setting by the course instructor
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year as a CNA in geriatrics or activity volunteer for six (6) months is preferred
