Providence Health & Services Health Unit Coordinator - Progressive Care Unit in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Health Unit Coordinator / Unit Secretary (0.75 FTE, Day Shift, Progressive Care Unit) to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual to perform clerical duties and contribute to a smooth functioning, well-equipped unit.
In this position you will:
Initiate the patient chart and/or kardexes accurately
Maintain patient charts, report stat orders, and keep patient records current under the supervision of the charge nurse
Accurately and promptly transcribes physician’s orders
File lab and x-ray reports and other appropriate materials in patients’ charts, after review of registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
Maintain unit patient log records accurately, completely, and legibly
Keep nursing station stocked appropriately as assigned
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in medical terminology in order to transcribe physicians’ orders legibly, using correct grammar
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One year recent experience as a Unit Secretary or experience in a similar position
Monitor tech skills
Proficiency in multiple line phone system and computer skills
Cardiac monitor equipmentexperience
