Providence Health & Services Director Nursing Inpatient and Specialty Services - Nursing Administration in Centralia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Nursing Administration to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, Washington.

The Director of Inpatient and Specialty Services is accountable for providing strategic and operational leadership for inpatient and specialty nursing services, including medical/surgical, progressive/critical care, emergency, administrative supervisors, RN and CNA float pool.

In this position you will:

  • Plans department strategic and operational goals and objectives in alignment with organizational goals and establishes policies and procedures to implement and maintain approved plans.

  • Develops departmental strategic plans complying with organizational guidelines which identify objectives for increasing market share and volumes, improving patient care quality and satisfaction, and improving employee satisfaction.

  • Anticipates and proactively plans for future trends and consequences.

  • Supports employee understanding and are commitment to the organization Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

  • Encourages employees to participate in Mission activities that contribute to the overall good of the community and demonstrated mission in daily work activities. Sets an example for employees.

  • Participates on appropriate regional and local committees and councils.

  • Develops and maintains departmental customer satisfaction program in accordance with organizational guidelines which exceed guest, family, patient, and physician satisfaction.

  • Displays consistent commitment to service excellence, serving as role model for nurse leader rounding and other patient satisfaction activities.

  • Demonstrates appreciation for and develops team strengths in meeting customer needs.

  • Promotes sensitivity with cultural and religious beliefs, provides for holistic care to patients/residents which incorporates biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

  • Prepares and submits realistic capital and operations budgets according to approved formats, procedures, and deadlines.

  • Monitors fiscal operations and is accountable for exceptions.

  • Proactively responds to fiscal changes by anticipating a need to adjust operations to ensure productivity and expense standards are met.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in the Nursing or related field or equivalent educ/experience

  • Demonstrates competence in leadership, education, clinical knowledge, and hospital operations.

  • 10 or more years’ experience in Acute Nursing with at least 5 years of director level management experience

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building, problem solving, prioritization, team facilitation, initiative, enthusiasm, creativity and exceptional communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quality improvement theories and methods and evidence-based practice.

  • Washington State RN Licensure
