Providence Health & Services Chaplain - Pastoral Care in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Chaplain to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
The chaplain is an integral part of the health-care team in a long-term care setting, and offers holistic ministry, which addresses spiritual, religious, emotional and sacramental needs to residents, families and staff
In this position you will:
Provide assessment of a patient’s spiritual, religious, and emotional needs
Chart visits, assessments and follow-up visits in the progress notes of the patient’s medical chart
Provide ministry to individuals and families in their grief process
Demonstrate ability to provide appropriate grief ministry to the cultural/religious spiritual background of persons served
Participate in the morning report, patient care conferences, family conferences, and on hospital committees as assigned
Maintain current knowledge of medical ethics and Catholic Healthcare ethics.
Required qualifications for this position include:
4 units Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Current Chaplain certification or eligible for certification issued by: National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or American Assn. Of Pastoral Counselors, or meet the requirements of their faith community for Chaplain and are ordained and/or have completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education
Experience in counseling/advising within health care and in pastoral service
Bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies or related
Master's Degree in pastoral studies or related
2 years successful experience in pastoral/ministerial service
Ability to relate to people of diverse cultures and religious affiliation
Some positions may require a drivers abstract indicating a valid Washington State Drivers license in good standing.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
